About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- This bad boy is about a thousand hours of hand beading. The motifs on the cuffs and back took fourteen hours a piece, the ones on the front took about eight hours per each. The designs were sketched onto tracing paper, transferred to the fabric and then I just beaded the snot out of it. The beads are glass sea beads and the rhinestones are swarovski crystals. The boots are a pair of pumps that then had boot-covers made over them and then beaded.
- Personal Thoughts:
- This costume is my BABY. It was the first costume that I absolutely fell in love with both while making it and after. It was probably out of my skill range when I tried it, but I was just too besotted with it to care. I was inspired by Takarazuka and my friends who were already making such beautiful costumes from it. This is still my favorite costume I've ever made.
