About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- Sewing wise, this costume was fairly easy. The most time consuming part was embroidering all the leaves, which still needs to be done. The crown is made of paperclay and coated with Rub'n Buff then antiqued with a combination of dark green and charcoal acrylic paint. I'd like to rework it a bit so it stays better on my head. I also need to remake the butterflies on the gloves and add the silver cord. The gold pattern on the bottom of the underskirt is stenciled on using a stencil I made myself. The petticoat of the underskirt came from an old prom dress of mine, and a large part of Tianzi was reused for the bodice. Overall, I love this costume but a few things need to be finished and reworked before I wear it again, but they are pretty minor.
