About this Costume
Construction Details:
I LOVE HIKARU. WHO DOESN'T? I remember reading MKR back in middle school and always thinking how many pretty outfits the magic knights had in the artbooks and I always wanted to make one. I'm so glad I finally got to make this outfit! Originally, we'd had a whole trio planned with Nova, Emeraude, and Zagato, but everyone had to drop out for various reasons and luckily enough for me Dokudel was nice enough to still make Nova. =D

The wig is a Scruffy in dark pink from CosWorx that I trimmed a bit and then added the braid to with matching extensions, also from CosWorx. All of the pink cloth parts are casa satin, and all of the red is casa crepe for a nice contrast.

The necklace is made from the crepe side of purple crepe back satin, stitched with a fluffy lining to give it that weird quilted look it has in the picture, and with the sun pendant thing hand-sculpted from Fimo and painted to match the armor with Inca gold FolkArt acrylic.

All of the armor is made from cardboard and foamies, all painted to match though I didn't get the time to gloss it in time for Otakon. x.x All of the gems were resin cast and the earrings for all three knights, even though they didn't make it to Otakon, were made by me so that they would all match.

SPOILER: I actually can't stand Mokona... xD
