Construction Details:

I've been wanting to cosplay Chrodechild since the game came out in '09 but I have never been too good at armor making and that always held me back. I tried my hand in getting the costume together for PMX'09, but ended up not finishing it in time. After that I decided not to finish it until I found a group to do it with. One of my friends decided to cosplay as Asad, and he actually got my started on my armor too, which was a super plus! Another friend decided to join in as Manaril which was TOTALLY AWESOME! We set our sights on finishing for Fanime2010! I procrastinated again. :X I cut it REALLY close with this costume actually. I started the armor earlier, with okageo's help here on cosplay.com. I got the shoulder armor finished first. CRAFT FOAM FTW! I never knew how amazing this stuff was until I used it. All the sewing was finished in one day. OMG! I never want to do that again, especially with all the details on the pants and the jacket. :( The entire costume was made of a cotton weave, the blue designs are ironed on using pellon's wonder under. Leg armor was made last minute, so they didn't turn out too well, IMO. I need to remake those. D: The sword was also made last minute. (It was like midnight the day of the con, and I was contemplating whether I chose sword or sleep...I chose sword. D:) I also finished a ton of the stuff at the con. XD; It really didn't help that I had another costume to finish that week. For having so much to finish in so little time, I think it turned out really really cool! I'll be fixing this up to wear for ALA2011 again. This time with a Fredegund and hopefully more characters!
