Construction Details:

As with a lot of things lately, I drafted my own pattern for the top. I chose a black suiting material that had a slight shine to it and made sure to line the entire thing. Small black eyelets were installed in the back so that it could be laced up. I bought a pre-made shear ruffle trim from JoAnn’s to finish it off. The jodhpurs were actually purchased on ebay (a lucky find) along with the knee-high leather boots. The flower on the headband was made with layers of felt and a ton of black and gold tulle to make it more three-dimensional.

I had a little extra time so I made the pom-pom flower things that Ritsu and Tsumugi hold on the CD cover of “DSL”. I bought the white ruffle trim from Hancock Fabrics, dyed it bright orange and yellow, and cinched the ruffles into tight circles. I then added the lime green and bright pink ribbon and red beads in the center.
