Construction Details:

Blarggggggggghhh, I dont event want to talk about this costume because it was a pain the rear to make and its still not finished to my standards yet. I am always tweaking this and that to get it to look right but I just cant seem to be satisfied with this costume. Shaina is my favorite character from the Saint Seiya pantheon though yeah she does come off as a bit of biotch on the anime. I feel that she is a very complicated character since she is one of two female saints in a world of dominated by testosterone.....so I wanted to give her a shot. The armor is made out of 3 different mediums, air dry clay, polystyrene and craft foam. The entire front part is airdry clay that is glossed over with polyester resin while the back is polystyrene and craft foam overlay. I wanted to make the entire thing out of clay BUT my wallet is not that deep and I really had to budget how much I put into this costume financially. The head gear shaped like a snake is all airdry clay hot glued into a plastic headband. The gauntlets are airdry clay on the fists, airdry clay on the arms and the snake is craft foam covered over with polyester resin gloss. Everything was spray painted purple. All fabric items were bought via ebay, I did not have time to sew anything so Hi ho Hi ho its off to ebay I go. I am still working on the wig, it wasnt really the one that I wanted but it was the only one I could afford so I need to style it a bit more to get more volume to it. This costume still needs some more work.....its a never ending battle....

Personal Thoughts:

I am going to replace the shoulder armor and wig before the fall cosplay season starts.
