About this Costume
- Construction Details:
This costume almost didn't happen. 2 days before AFO 2009 I finished up my other costumes and started construction (I had bought all the supplies already-- just hadn't started cutting). I like it surprisingly well for such a last minute costume.
- Styling Notes
- I started with a 3/4 wig from a local shop because it was cheaper. It has a cleaner front edge than most 3/4s so it works okay. The wig was too short for the topknot, so I just pulled the top into a ponytail and made a false topknot with some extra wig fiber I had lying around from another project. After hot-gluing the ends to the topknot, I fastened it to the wig's ponytail with an elastic, then hot-glued my craft foam ornament overtop being sure that the glue only got on the false topknot). If I ever get sick of this costume, I can take out the topknot, relax the kinks with some heat, and start fresh on a new character.
