Cosplayer Sumikins > Costume of Yui Hongo from Fushigi Yuugi
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
Oh geez. I could write a novel. Collar is appliqued, the ruffles are circular ruffles hand stitched to the collar piece. The sleeves are 14 yards of chiffon. There is applique and hand-sewing details all over this costume, I can't even remember every single thing. Maybe I'll update this later.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Although this costume didn't turn out EXACTLY how I wanted it, I think think the end results are nice. I learned a lot from this project, including how to do applique, how to hem chiffon, and that pieces of fabric cut on a bias are a pain to work with. I also learned that you can paint clay with resin and it makes it super durable! Also, that spangles are really pretty, but ALWAYS tedious.
