Construction Details:

The dress is made using a Simplicity Marie Antoinette pattern and made from a durable, upholstery fabric. I chose to go with that fabric as opposed to an apparel fabric so that the dress would have weight and substance, would be easier to wash, and for the pattern of the fabric. The construction of the dress took about six months, with the bows and collar being added last. For Anime Boston 2010, I redid both of those parts. I wear a large petticoat underneath the dress.
