About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- Maka was amazingly fun to approach, I didn't expect her to be. I had fun picking out a diagonal knit that looked like it walked out of an animation (if that makes ANY sense) for her jacket, and heavily altered a wrap dress pattern. The sleeve cuffs are fabric-covered craft foam. I used a flannel shirting fabric for the skirt and cut on the fold so it has no hem and is doubled over. Vest and tie are purchased, and the buttons were made out of light-Sculpey clay and spraypainted. The boots took me a good three to four hours and consist of two different kinds of white elastic, purchased belt buckles, and paint. Since I had Soul himself, I held off on the scythe, though it may be a future addition to the costume.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Wahh, Maka! Probably the closest I'll come to a doppelganger in the animated realm. xD Maybe not in looks, although I'm naturally also blonde with green eyes, but also in temperament...and we're both extreme goody two-shoes. This is my first official cosplay as a part of the Soul Resonance Brigade with my girls!
