Construction Details:

I patterned the bodice myself and used a Retro Simplicity pattern for the skirt. There's about 15 yards of fabric in this costume total, I used velvet for the bodice and gloves and matte satin for all other pieces. The feathers are attached to hair clips that stay really well! After Katsu I took the dress apart and fixed the boning, hems and overall fit of the dress just in time for the Cherry Blossom Festival!

Personal Thoughts:

My eldest cat always like to bum around with my (and bother me) while sewing and about halfway through this gown she passed away. This costume has a very special meaning to me so I hope to keep working on it till I get it right.
