Construction Details:

It's been one year since I did my first Amelia costume at Katsucon 2009, so this year I decided to rope my friends into doing Slayers costumes with me so that I could try my hand at re-making Amelia! For this version I attempted to be true to her manga design and new Revolution/Evolution-R animation. The costume is off-white now, and the little belt and pouch have a lot of gems and details. I tried to make the fit a bit more poofy because that's how it looks to me in the new season(s), and the only thing I'm unhappy with is that the pink I chose for the trim is a bit dull. I think I'm going to rip it out and replace it with something pinker to match the armor piece and bracelets!

Thank you to my hubby, OrochiSerge, for letting me paint him blue and stick "rocks" to his face once more! Also thanks to Sara, Otakutre, Tikki and Minakokitty for being various characters with me! :D

Styling Notes

I cut quite a bit of the length from the base wig and added it back into the front layers around my face. Since this was a very straight wig, I cut my own layers and used a round brush and Aquanet to flip out the ends. Actually, it wasn't holding very well, so at the con I borrowed some Elmer's Glue spray from Otakutre and held the ends out in a more drastic flip while spraying, and that stuff STICKS! It also dries almost immediately. So that was actually very successful.
