About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- It's Etna and the wig of doom! Etna is such a great character in Disgaea (aren't they all?), and she's so demonically (is that a word?) cute that I just couldn't resist her.
The wig was pigtailed using Katie Bair's pigtailing method, and was custom dyed with a mixture of Sharpies. The spikes were constructed from a foam base, covered in fabric to match the spikes, then covered with wig hair.
Every bit of the clothing is made from PVC pleather and the wings/tail are made from some unidentified skin/suedelike fabric that I found on JoAnn's clearance table. Shiny pleather is shiny, just like the obnoxious figurines.
I love Etna, I just wish this wasn't another one of those costumes with annoying as all hell thigh-highs! Etna was retired because Etna's Disgaea 2 outfit will replace her in my exploding cosplay closet.
- Personal Thoughts:
- The wig was kind of difficult and fenangly (I know that's not a word) and it took a bit of brainwork to figure out how to attach the wings because I'm a derp like that, but I'd love to make a new Etna costume since there were a lot of things I really didn't like about this one... CrossEdge, anyone? :D
