Construction Details:

I've always loved Tomoyo (even WAY back from Card Captor Sakura) so when she showed up in TRC I immediately fell in love with her outfit. There are three layers to this. The first is a simple cotton sateen. On the second layer is lined and made from Casa satin. On the back of it I embroidered the crescent moon and clouds that she has in some reference photos. The third layer is again Casa. For the shawl I used stiff interfacing to make sure that it would be sturdy enough to keep it's shape. One of the problems was figuring out how to make her head piece. The whole thing is mounted onto a headband that I wrapped in black extensions to match the wig. I then cut out the shape in poster board and covered that in the same hair extensions. Her 'antennae' are armature wire wrapped in craft foam. All of the tear drop shaped beads were made from Sculpey clay, while the rest were pearls that I painted the color that I wanted. I also made all of the tassels! Each of the 'fans' were cut out of craft foam, and sealed just like the head piece.
