Construction Details:: When VintageAerith approached me and dropped subtle (read: ANVIL SIZED) hints about wanting an Azmaria cosplayer for her Chrono Crusade group, I couldn't say no! With a lot of help from her for the fabrics, design, colors, etc, I set about making the costume. I took a very easy pattern and modified it for the dress; I opened the top of the front so that it buttoned, and made an underskirt large enough to have an a-line petticoat under it. The blue was hand-dyed so that it would be the right shade of blue for Azmaria. :) The shawl is made from another pattern, and I added some adorable white lace to the bottom of it. I know she has fringe but THIS WAS TOO CUTE. :D I love this costume, and its nice and cozy warm for the winter. I wore white tights under it, and black ballet flats.
Personal Thoughts:: The more I read and watch Chrono Crusade the more I love it! Azmaria is such an amazing character, and I can relate to her on so many levels. :) Although this costume was completely uncomfortable, because I was wearing a petticoat, underskirt and then a long-sleeved overdress with a shawl. ;-; Ick. Someday, I'd like to go back and remake this dress, using the same materials but modifying little parts of it.
