Neon Genesis Evangelion holds a special place in my heart as one of my favorite series, with Rei being my favorite character in the series! As my days of cosplay dwindle, I realized that before I quit, I needed to do some of my all-time favorite characters that I've avoided for all sorts of reasons (too over-cosplayed, costumes simple/boring, I would not look good as so-and-so character). So when I found out that Darth Teca (who happens to be the most perfect Ritsuko EVER) was coming to Fanime, I took the opportunity to make Rei's school uniform! It was a really amazing experience to sew something I've loved for like 10+ years, especially with the new movies being released. And to wear the costume was an absolute childhood dream. :)
