About this Costume
Construction Details:
I spent approximately 60-70 hours (give or take...more likely give) working on this costume. If you include all the time I spent shopping/planning/researching/sketching/pulling-my-hair-out-from-frustration on this cosplay, then it adds up to at least 100 hours. It's all hand made, and 90% hand sewn (btw, sewing leather by hand SUCKS). I made the mask out of red clay in 9th grade ceramics, and painted it in acrylics. The pelt is white faux grizzly fur sewn onto a genuine deer skin and then stuffed. The spearhead, necklace, earings, ears, and other small excessories are all made in sculpy and painted with acrylics. The boots are hand made from deer skin scraps (courtesy of my friends grandmother who owns a fur store). The soles are made of multiple layers of textured felt with stuffing in the middle, and the bottom layer has up-standing fibers and ridges for grip (they're worn down now though). I can't remember what type of cloth I used for the dress and tunic. They're both a knit of some sort, though. I think the tunic is mostly cotton. I've worn this to one (and my first) convention; Ohayocon 2009. I forgot to bring my camera (stupid stupid stupid), so I only have one picture that I found online. If anyone else has a picture of me at Ohayocon, could you upload it and link it to me? Pretty please with sugar on top? Also, if you're the photographer of this, please let me know so I can give you credit.(side note: That's my cell phone in the corner, lol :D.) Oh yeah, I'd had approx. 9 hours of sleep (total) over the past 3 days when this was taken. So I might look a little out of it...
