About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- -Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the circus! Edel has some of the weirdest color combinations I have EVER seen! So of course I used the weirdest materials to just make it all sorts of special. So from the bottom up. For the stripes on the leggings I used some clearance light yellow stretch and some dark red taffeta. I opted to not make them pants so they are attached to a garter on the sides so that I never have to pull my skirting up to fuss with them. The skirting is made out of some scrap casa pieces that I somehow had in the right colors and a very pretty white cotton. There is a small crinoline underneath to give it a weird sort of bell poof. The top is just made out of more casa and is properly lined with lining… o.o I think this is the first time I actually used lining for lining. Weird. I made the tassels out of a matching light yellow embroidery thread and painted beads. The light yellow lace on the bust is actually custom dyed to once again match the light yellow that appears to be everywhere. The necklace is just some black ribbon, painted foamy, and a shiny button and the sleeves more casa, cotton, and more yellow stretch.
The music box was actually made last minute by my amazing brother - Personal Thoughts:
- I love Princess Tutu and as soon as I saw Edel I knew I wanted to dress up in the circus too. Of course Rue is my favorite character, but since I am unable to do point Edel is easier physically for me and still just as AWESOME!!!
