About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- Okay. I will attempt to type this all out again. I made the jewelery all myself out of papermache (since it's supposed to be molten gold which has no form), turquoise, and red glass beads. The skirt was the bottom of a dress that I cut the top off of. The top corset was purchased, but I had to be sewn into it since the hook and eye closure was in the front and the bow had to go there. So everytime I put it on that needs to happen. The corset has hand-sewn fabric added to it, and the bows are cardboard with quilt padding on them to keep them from sagging. The wig was styled by me with the help of my friend who is a hair dresser, it was all hairspray, believe it or not! There is a pettycoat under the dress that I got from goodwill, I didn't think a hoopskirt worked with this design. Oh, and I did make handless gloves for this, but it was all for naught since I left them in the room Grr...Oh, I almost forgot! I have wings on this, but you can't seem them in these pictures! They were adapted from a bat-wing tutorial I found online.
- Personal Thoughts:
- This was actually pretty annoying to wear. I couldn't even fit though doors or even sit down that well, for that matter. I only wore it for 3 hours or so, and, I would really like to do a photoshoot for it, but in order to do that, I have to fix it up again (I reused the corset for Bellatrix) so uh...yeah. Hard to move around it. That's what comes to mind when I think of this costume. Also, that is my sister standing next to me. She isn't from Disgaea, she's dressed as a KOF character. And uh..I wanted to get better pics of this, but it looks like that's not gonna happen anytime soon. Hope you guys can still see the work put into it.
- Styling Notes
