Cosplayer Imari Yumiki > Costume of Gizel Godwin from Suikoden V
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- The costume was the first time I worked with so much gold. Trims, armor pieces and I thought I never would be through with the triangle madness. Haha, hundreds and hundreds of triangles... D: I had to make sure I had everything measured, patterned out and sewn together based on the artwork for his costume. This costume had three layers in total, plus armor like pieces. When I made this costume I noticed the design was very similar to Japanese traditional wear, which made it easier for me to pattern out when I studied his design.
- Personal Thoughts:
- I had two choices from Suikoden V I really wanted to do, I decided to go with Gizel because I thought he would be easier. Haha, was I wrong, he was very time consuming. I really liked his character even though he was manipulative and the antagonist character. In all though, Gizel's beautiful Red, Black and Gold Queen's Knight costume got me. At first I wanted to do his basic version, but during the game I fell in love with his design. I am looking forward to wear this for a convention for more shots one day. I need to work on the inside armor piece more when I wear it for a con, it kept slipping during the photoshoot, thus lack of placement in the pictures. :< Now to find a Lym or Sialeeds one day for photos. :D
