Construction Details:

This costume was really an experiment in many things. I had never made a fairy costume before, I had never made anything remotely Lolita before, and I had never made something as quickly as I made this costume. I decided to make this outfit only a few days before Mardi Gras 2006. The material was salvaged from the local fabric store that had flooded in Hurricane Katrina. I decided that the city of New Orleans needed a little hope for the future that Mardi Gras and thought I might be able to help spread a little happiness and cheer in this bright and frilly costume.
