About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- After I whipped out the first version of this dress, it was bugging the hell out of me to make one more accurate to the film. So I pulled out all the stops, bought a million yards of fabric, lace, pearls, rhinestones, glitter adhesive, bows, you name it. JoAnn's was my best friend for about a month. I followed a bunch of exhibit photos of the gown for the designs along the dress and stayed as meticulous to the original as possible. It's composed of a metal hoopskirt, crinoline, two seperate underskirts, and an overskirt with attached sleeves. It's very heavy and very poofy and very annoying to wear, but I'm proud of how much work I put into it. :D
- Personal Thoughts:
- I made this entire thing in the process of moving, so to thank my boyfriend and his roommate for the use of their apartment during its construction, I embossed their initials on the back of the gown. They deserved a little credit for the amount of tulle they had to clean up after I was done. And I know. My boobs look huge in this thing.
