Cosplayer Ambrosia > Costume of Giselle from Enchanted
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- So wow I am totally big time gay for Enchanted. I saw the movie right before I was scheduled to judge over at NYAF 07, fell in love with it and all it's ridiculousness, and decided to crank out the wedding dress in a margin of 2 weeks with VERY limited reference images. I had to travel by train to get to the con, so I made it smaller in skirt size and made a corset for the top portion, so the entire costume could be detachable from the waist down. My wig is my old one from Orihime, which worked wonderfully. Gloves were lent to me by M. Alice LeGrow, who also assisted me in a hand-sewing appliqué marathon until 3am Friday night.
- Personal Thoughts:
- After the dress from the film was put in galleries and exhibitions, my brain practically leaked out of my ears when I realized how blazingly inaccurate I'd made this thing :V That aside, I was insanely proud of this costume after I initially finished it. The reception was greater than any other costume I'd ever made in the past, especially when hoards of little girls wanted their photos taken with me and I melted into a big puddle of Krys-goo that they're probably still scrubbing off the sidewalk in Times Square.
