Cosplayer klytaemnestra > Costume of Maria Renard from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- Originally this costume was made in a night right before the convention, however it was very last minute and I was never pleased with it. Two years later I finally made an effort to remake this costume. It took me that long to find the perfect fabric. I finally found a lovely midnight green and black dupioni and a gold jacquard taffeta with a floral Regency motif for the sash. The lace around the sleeves isn't canon, however I always said that I was going to use lace on this costume. The pattern is a modified cloth pattern made from an actual Rococco dress that my sister borrowed from her historical society as I was determined to make this dress as historically accurate as possible from the design to the fabric choices. I even wore a corset under the dress. It's probably my favourite costume, and one of the most comfortable I have. I makes the longtime Castlevania geek inside of me far too happy to wear it and I foresee wearing this costume for years.
