About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- All of the skirt designs, including the shorter skirt piece around the top that you can't really see, were hand painted in identical patterns, both front and back. I sculpted the gold jewelry on the headpiece that you can't see here, and chose to make her little flute as my prop. The little fringe things on the corners of the cape...thing...were hand-sewed on. I couldn't find a wig in time, because I was being overly picky about the shade of blue. So this was a cheap silver wig that I hand colored with Sharpies and rinsed several times to achieve the very light blue color. It's amazing to me the wig options that exist now, only four years later, that weren't really available then. The ears were purchased from Aradani Studios, and I have used them for all my elf ear needs ever since.
