About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- I made this costume to go onstage with Ayashii Cosplayers group for the AX2002 Masquerade. It was a total pain to figure out how to miter the trim on the neck area, but I think I got it figured out. Unfortunately, I was an idiot and didn't make sure the lapels (sp?) of the mini-jacket overlapped properly, so every time I moved around, I got bust-area gappage! Too late to remake it in time for the con, I just wore it as it was. It was definitely a sewing learning experience, as I had no idea what was going on with much of the outfit, including her sleeves! The sleeves ended up being the heaviest part of the outfit as that was the only part of the outfit that was lined. I made a life-size Shikigami curly-paper dude and hung him from a wand, but I couldn't figure out how to carry him around! Thus, poor Shikigami often got left home...
