My first cosplay was back in college. I used what I could find from Goodwill and my wardrobe, along with a lot of hand sewing, to put together a Milly Thompson cosplay. But being a poor college student I was limited to what I could find at Goodwill and construct with paper and cardboard. It wasn't much.
Since then my cosplay skills and wardrobe have grown. A lot. My first convention ever was Dragon*Con 2010. It was wonderful! Being a geek of many genres, I was constantly torn as to what to go see.
I'll stop rambling now and let my cosplays speak for myself.
