My nickname is Angel and I live in the middle of nowhere and I'm a college student. So I don't go to many conventions. I'm majoring in history and Museum Studies. By default I'm getting an AA in Japanese AA, I so plan on continue to study both of those subjects.
I've already been to Japan and I'm planning another one or two trips with in the next 4-6 years. I also am planning on going to Germany for a bit and I want to go to England for a couple of weeks. As you can tell I love social subjects and traveling.
I also enjoy writing. I'm the representative for my colleges Creative Writing Club and for better or for worst I've been voted president twice in a row. I'm don't think my writing is super great but I hope that I'm adding in elements that aren't often seen and express my emotions at the same time. I'm inspired by Shakespeare, Tolkien, and all the mythologies out there.
That's of course not to say I don't love Anime. I'm a little more calm about the subject then probably most people. I see it as leisure over a life style and I prefer ones with good story lines, popular (because they're popular for a reason), or ones at least ten years old. Sorry, but some of my old time faves are Yu Yu Hakusho and Shaman King. But at least you wont see people calling me an Otaku. A lot of people find me straight faced and more into the culture.
My cosplay philosophy is 'Have fun, do it right, and you can make a great cosplayer if you use your brain'. I believe there is a cosplay out there for everyone if they just put their mind to it and do a little research. I'm also the leader of a cosplay group in the area that I was born and grew up in. It's called Genki Sushi or Energetic Sushi. It's still small but we don't just have Anime cosplayers in the group. We also do historical and steampunk.
