About this Costume
Construction Details:
Favorite Aspect: I had some extra time before the con, so I went back and made the message in the bottle (with the poem. I went and got a screen cap of the poem so I could lay out the words exactly the way they should be), papou fruit (three of them), and lucky charm props. I took candy making in the fall too at my college and learned how to make the seasalt pops so we could have some real ones to munch on.

Least Favorite Aspect: Figuring out how to place the ribbons to create the right plaid pattern. I saw a lot of people only did the bottom of the tie, but closer inspection made me realize that wasn't right, and the whole tie needed to be plaid, and that took three tries to get it decently "right". :/ It still isn't perfect, but at least it's completely covered.

Easiest Task: I was lucky enough to find a pair of useable shoes while digging through my closet.

Hardest Task: Measuring and liquid-stitching each and every ribbon stripe down to make the plaids. :/ That took hours.
Personal Thoughts:
I got nervous that I wouldn't be able to finish her other dress in time, and decided to make this one too, and get multiple uses out of the wig. Since I finished the pink dress though, I let my friend Samantha wear this to Mechacon for the cosplay compeition with me and my friend Heidi (who was Kairi from KH1) so we could be the three Kairis' and show how simple costumes were actually complicated if you paid attention to details (since I made the plaid for this costume, for example). And it was so much fun.
