Cosplayer Lauren Hibs > Costume of Kyouya Hibari (Katekyo Hitman Reborn!)
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
Going to Otakon 2011 was a major last minute decision, along with having all new costumes for it. Due to the lackthereof time, I had to purchase a coat already made, line it with the fabric from what was going to be a red bedsheet, and alter the coat to fit the design. The design inside the jacket was handpainted in a mix of acrylic paint, fabric paint, and paint-glitter mixed modgepodge. The back detail and the print on the opening was done in white acrylic paint. The "pockets" are non-functioning; just ribbon/trim sewn where the pockets would be. The tall collar is supported by a mix of interfacing and craftfoam inside.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Despite being a major rush-job, this costume is definitely up in the ranks of being my pride and joy costumes.
- How was the wig colored?
- Styling Notes
- Only a simple fluffing and then hairspray was done to the wig
- Wig Review
- After previous heat damage and improper cutting, the bangs started to square-out, as opposed to smoothly come together, but other than that, a wonderful wig
