About this Costume
Construction Details:
op: The Mini Nuke pieces were a lucky find. They are literally pieces from a protective bra from the 50's, used by women in sports (fitting, right?). I'm not sure how I would have went about making them without finding such an item! They were plain white when I bought them, so obviously a great deal of painting and detailing went into them to make them look like Mini Nukes. For modesty and the prevention of costume malfunctions, it was glued to a black bikini top.

Gauntlet: Actually a shin guard, painted, drybrushed and completed with foam spikes that I made (for safety purposes of course).

Elbow guard: Circular piece was taken from a kneepad. I drybrushed it and added a foam spike to it, and attached a belt piece like in the game so it's adjustable.

Armor on left arm: Piece was taken from a plastic, flexible cutting board so that it bends. I spray painted it and added the symbol to it, then bolted some elastic onto them.

Pants: Were a pair of Express jeans that I found at a thrift store. I cut them up and frayed them a bit, then painted some dirt onto them.

Belt: Simply a bullet belt that I bought.

Boots: Already in my wardrobe, simple flat, brown boots.

Bandages: An old knee-wrap that I had since retired since I got a new one, that my doctor had given me. I simply just chopped it up so I had pieces on both legs, and dirtied them up with some brown paint.

Rebar Club made by my friend Zestypizza.
